Fabspeed Sport Headers with Heat for 930 Porsche 911 Turbo
Fabspeed’s Sport Headers with Heat for 930 Porsche 911 Turbo give the original air-cooled 911 Turbo more power and a quicker-spooling turbo without giving up the cabin heat that makes it usable in cold weather. Fabspeed has built exhausts for Porsche for more than thirty years at its own Fort Washington, Pennsylvania facility, and these headers replace the restrictive factory heat exchangers with free-flowing units CNC mandrel-bent from 14-16 gauge T304 stainless steel and finished with high-velocity 3-into-1 pyramidal merge collectors, while keeping the full factory heating function. On Fabspeed’s dyno they add 30 horsepower and 25 lb-ft of torque, trim 25 pounds, and bring the power on much sooner in the rev range, so the 930’s famous turbo lag shrinks and the car pulls harder everywhere. They bolt on as a direct replacement and come complete with the drip accumulator, braided oil lines, and gaskets. Backed by the Fabspeed lifetime warranty, they are the rare 930 header upgrade that adds real performance and keeps the car a genuine road car.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which cars do the Fabspeed Sport Headers with Heat for 930 Porsche 911 Turbo fit? They fit the air-cooled 930 Porsche 911 Turbo built from 1976 to 1989, both the 3.0-liter turbo of the early cars and the 3.3-liter turbo from 1978 on. They are a direct replacement for the factory heat exchangers and come in standard and slantnose versions, so there is a fit for the Flachbau cars too. They are made for the single-turbo 930, not the later twin-turbo 993 Turbo.
- What does “with Heat” mean? The 930’s factory heat exchangers warm the cabin, so these Sport Headers with Heat retain the full factory heating function rather than deleting it like a race header. They come complete with the drip accumulator, braided oil lines, and gaskets. That is what lets you add power and cut turbo lag without giving up the heater.
- How much power do they add, and do they help turbo lag? On Fabspeed’s dyno the headers add 30 horsepower and 25 lb-ft of torque and cut about 25 pounds. Just as important on a 930, they bring the power on much sooner in the rev range, which noticeably reduces the car’s turbo lag. The gains come from replacing the restrictive factory heat exchangers with free-flowing headers, not from any change to the turbocharger.
- What is the difference between the standard and slantnose versions? The headers themselves are the same; the difference is the oil line kit. The factory slantnose, or Flachbau, 930 routes its oil lines differently, so it needs the slantnose oil line kit, which you select at checkout. A standard 930 uses the standard kit. Choosing correctly ensures the oil lines fit your car.
- What is included, and is it hard to install? Everything needed is included, the drip accumulator, braided oil lines, and gaskets, so it is a complete kit. It is a direct bolt-on with no cutting or welding. Professional installation is recommended, and after the first heat cycle the exhaust bolts should be re-torqued to the factory specification.
- Are they street legal, and are they covered? They are not CARB approved, so they are not for sale in California or other states that require CARB certification; check your local emissions rules before buying. Every set is backed by the Fabspeed Lifetime Warranty and is hand-built in the USA from T304 stainless steel at Fabspeed’s Fort Washington, Pennsylvania facility.
