AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust w/ Diamond Black Tips for MK7 Volkswagen Jetta GLI

AWE Jetta GLI track exhaust in non-resonated form finishes with diamond black tips, a 3″ T304L stainless cat-back for the MK7 Volkswagen Jetta GLI engineered to improve flow and produce a more aggressive, unfiltered tone, designed to work with the OEM downpipe. Unlike the Touring Edition, it omits the drone-canceling resonator entirely, letting the mid-range and high-RPM sound come through pronounced while staying controlled at lower speeds. The straight-through mid-pipe and rear section maintain consistent exhaust velocity, and the 102mm diamond black tips align cleanly with the rear valance. Installation uses factory mounting points, keeps emissions equipment in place, and the design delivers consistent performance, tonal character, and fitment across all driving conditions.

Track Edition Exhaust

The Track Edition is designed for drivers seeking a more aggressive, unfiltered character. It shares the same integrated front pipe, mid-pipe resonator, and overall precision engineering as the Touring Edition, but replaces the rear 180 Technology drone-canceling resonator with a straight-through section. This results in a louder, more pronounced tone during mid-range acceleration and deceleration, which may be intense for some drivers. This non-resonated version is the most aggressive configuration in the MK7 GLI lineup and is designed for the stock factory downpipe.

Exhaust Tips

Both Touring and Track Editions feature configurable tips, allowing owners to choose between dual or triple 4.5″ slash-cut setups using the included stamped tip connections. Tips are 4.5″ double-walled, offered here in diamond black, branded with the AWE logo, and adjustable in depth to suit individual preference.

Not Valved

During development, AWE studied the factory exhaust valve across driving modes. Volume stays mostly consistent, with the valve closed only in Comfort mode until a throttle threshold is reached. In Sport and Sport+ the valve stays open, with Sport+ adding ECU-controlled burbles. Stock routing sends exhaust through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to reduce cabin noise and drone, and through the center path when open. Because useful independent valve control is limited on this platform, AWE built the Track Edition as a clean, non-valved, straight-through design with no valve hardware or simulators required.

Conversion Kits

The system is designed for easy switching between Track and Touring Editions, as well as between dual and triple tip configurations, giving flexibility to adjust sound and appearance over time.

Is the AWE Jetta GLI track exhaust designed for the stock downpipe or an aftermarket unit? The non-resonated Track Edition was designed specifically for the factory stock downpipe. If you already have or plan to install an aftermarket downpipe, AWE recommends the Touring Edition for a drone-free experience. The resonated Track Edition is a separate configuration that works with both stock and aftermarket downpipes and serves as a middle ground for downpipe-equipped cars. For a completely drone-free result with any downpipe, the Touring Edition is the confirmed path.
How loud is the AWE Jetta GLI track exhaust on the MK7 Jetta GLI, and can it be returned for sound reasons? The non-resonated Track Edition removes all filtering from the exhaust; no 180 Technology resonator, no sound attenuation, just the unfiltered 2.0T character. The tone can be intense for some drivers, particularly through mid-range acceleration and on deceleration. This system cannot be returned for noise-related reasons. If there is any uncertainty, the Touring Edition or the resonated Track Edition are the more conservative starting points, and AWE’s conversion kits make it easy to step up later.
