HKS 6PK1700 Fine Tune V-Belt
The Fine Tune Timing Belt is specifically designed for optimal use with HKS Slide Cam-Pulleys, making it perfect for high power and high RPM engines. It maintains stable belt tension even as the engine heats up and expands. Unlike traditional timing belts that weaken due to external pressure on the teeth, HKS uses precise molding techniques to preserve belt strength and reduce skipping under high torque. The teeth are crafted from H-NBR grade rubber for added durability. In addition to its performance benefits, the Fine Tune V Belt also improves the appearance of the engine compartment, utilizing advanced technology to protect the vehicle’s condition.
Necessity of Changing the Balancer Belt
- The balancer is designed to reduce engine vibration by creating a counteracting force. At high RPMs, such as those experienced during circuit driving, engine vibrations increase, putting more strain on the balancer. Since the balancer rotates at twice the speed of the crankshaft, its belt stretches faster than other belts. This stretching can cause the balancer to fall out of sync with the crankshaft, leading to increased vibration and potential belt failure. To prevent this, HKS recommends replacing the balancer belt with a strengthened version whenever the timing belt is changed, ensuring the balancer remains effective, accurate, and reduces stress on the engine and chassis.

- The new belt offers improved durability and performance in both hot and cold conditions, enhanced friction tolerance, and is significantly lighter than the previous version. Additionally, a short fiber mixture in the rib rubber further boosts its overall performance.
