The HKS Super Fire Racing Coil Pro for FD3S Mazda RX-7 converts the 13B-REW from the factory wasted spark layout to independent ignition, using Japanese-made coils that HKS rates at approximately 1.4 times the secondary voltage of the stock system. It suits an FD3S that already runs, or is about to run, a standalone ECU and is driven hard, where a strong, stable spark at high rpm guards against misfires. It is not a plug-in refresh for a stock car: HKS requires an ECU capable of independent ignition control, such as the F-CON V Pro, and the kit does not work with the factory ECU.
