- Do I need this kit if my R8 doesn’t have Audi Magnetic Ride? No. If your V8 R8 was not optioned with Magnetic Ride, the delete kit is not required. It’s only necessary on cars that came from the factory with the Magnetic Ride system installed.
- Do I need this kit if I’m fitting a Nitron elec-TRON coilover kit? No. The elec-TRON kits use Nitron’s proportional solenoid valve and DCU to handle electronic damping independently, so the factory Magnetic Ride system is effectively replaced rather than deleted. The delete kit is only needed when fitting a non-electronic coilover kit such as the NTR-R1 or NTR-R3 to an R8 that originally came with Magnetic Ride.
- Will the delete kit affect any other vehicle functions? No. The kit disables only the standard damper control function. All other control unit functions remain fully operational, so the rest of the car’s systems are unaffected.
- Is the Electronic Damping Delete Kit included with Nitron coilover kits? No, it is sold separately. It is an additional requirement for R8 owners converting from the Magnetic Ride system to a non-electronic coilover kit.
