The 997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4, Carrera 4 GTS, Carrera 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S are capable platforms from the factory, but the suspension still leaves real capability on the table when the driving gets serious. The Nitron NTR-R3 coilover kit, supplied here with Nitron’s Standalone Front Axle Lift system, is built for that level of development work; independent 3-way damping adjustment with separate high and low speed compression control gives drivers and engineers the range needed to properly dial the car in across different circuits and conditions. A large diameter piston and ultra-strong piston rod sit at the core of the design, providing the damping control and feedback that serious setups depend on. Both front and rear units use hose mounted reservoirs; the fronts feature quick-release dry-breaks as standard, with the option to add them to the rears as well, keeping high and low speed compression adjustment accessible at both ends. The Nitron Front Axle Lift (FAL)

Bespoke Engineering

Nitron doesn’t adapt a generic damper to fit the 997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4, Carrera 4 GTS, Carrera 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S; they engineer one around each platform. Every application goes through a dedicated development process where components, spring rates, and damping characteristics are determined by the specific variant, not borrowed from something close enough. Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Standalone FAL affect the suspension setup or how the car drives when it’s not in use? No. The Nitron Standalone Front Axle Lift operates independently of the damper setup. It does not affect spring rates, valving, or ride height when the axle is in its lowered position. Once the front axle comes back down, the car behaves exactly as it would without the FAL fitted.
Does the Nitron NTR-R3 require the Electronic Damping Delete Kit on a PASM-equipped 997 Carrera 4, Carrera 4 GTS, Carrera 4S, Turbo, or Turbo S? Yes, if your car was factory-equipped with PASM. Fitting a passive coilover kit to a PASM-equipped 997 without addressing the factory electronic damping system will trigger fault codes and warning lights. The Nitron Electronic Damping Delete Kit prevents those faults cleanly and is required alongside the NTR-R3 on any PASM-equipped car.
Can the Nitron NTR-R3 be revalved or adjusted after purchase, and are custom spring rates available? Yes on both. Every Nitron NTR-R3 kit is fully serviceable and can be revalved or rebuilt by Nitron. Custom spring rates are available at the time of order; contact us directly before ordering if your intended use or setup calls for something outside the standard specification.
