Every application is shake-rig developed and track validated, arriving with specific spring rates, clicker settings, and ride height specifications already dialed in for the E46 platform. What the Dedicated Program Means

The Öhlins Dedicated program is not a Road & Track kit with stiffer springs. It is a purpose-built system engineered from the ground up for track performance, where Öhlins treats the entire chassis as a single system rather than developing dampers and springs in isolation. The E46 M3 and 3 Series kit uses Swift-manufactured race springs built to Öhlins’ own specifications; not catalog springs selected at the end of the process, but components developed alongside the valving and geometry targets for this specific platform. The result is a coilover that arrives calibrated, not approximate.

DFV Technology and Damping Adjustment

Öhlins’ patented Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology provides the tuning balance the Dedicated program depends on. The DFV allows engineers to build force curves that deliver strong chassis control over the rough sections of a circuit while keeping the suspension composed over curbing and track imperfections; two demands that typically work against each other in a single-purpose setup. The valve opens a secondary oil bypass at high shaft velocities, preventing the harshness that comes from a purely stiff tune without sacrificing the support the E46 needs when loaded hard.
Damping is adjusted via a single 20-click knob. The front uses racing camber plates; the rear uses spherical bearing upper shock mounts. Both axles include compression and rebound adjustment via one adjuster alongside a spring preload adjuster.

Construction and Specifications

The front struts use strengthened inverted monotube construction with racing camber plates and a 120N/mm spring rate, including a tender race spring. The rear uses aluminum body monotube shocks with spherical bearing upper mounts and a 160N/mm spring rate. The stiffer rear rate is consistent with the track-focused tuning philosophy of the Dedicated program and the rear-weighted handling balance of the E46 platform under hard cornering. Target ride height reduction is approximately 20mm on both axles. All dampers are fully rebuildable.
