The system cuts 9.2 kg (20.3 lb) from the factory AMG Performance exhaust, a 34.2% weight reduction, while adding 6.3 kW (8.6 hp) and 21.3 Nm (15.7 lb-ft) of torque at 2,800 rpm on Akrapovic’s in-house dyno. Every core casting, from the muffler housings to the active X-connection in the link pipe, comes out of Akrapovic’s own foundry rather than an outside supplier, the same standard of in-house control that underpins the brand’s championship-winning motorsport programs.

Sound and Valve Control

Three exhaust valves, one on either side of the muffler and a third built into the active X-connection in the link pipe, are managed by a purpose-built control kit that shapes the exhaust note across the rev range. The result is a pure, deep tone at idle, a well-defined burble as revs climb, and a high-frequency, motorsport-inflected character at the top of the range. No ECU remapping is needed on installation, and an optional Akrapovic Sound Kit is available for full wireless control over the exhaust’s sound profile.
